The countdown to "Breaking Dawn" is truly under way, and evidence of the excitement for the last "Twilight" flicks is popping up all over the place. In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, Twi-hards are getting an in-depth look at the films, the first of which opens later this year.

"We shot everything — whether it's the lovemaking or the childbirth — as potent and powerful as it can be," director Bill Condon explains in the new issue. "It will be interesting to see whether there will be people who think it too disturbing for this universe."

Of course, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson star in some of the most anticipated scenes in the upcoming movies. One of those is the long-awaited sex scene between Bella and Edward, stills of which hit the Internet, much to the dismay of those involved with making the film. "It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampire-y, which is good," Stewart said.

Fans are also eager to see how Bella's painful birth scene will be played out. "It's funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it's all about the sex," the actress said. "The birth is really effective, and I've heard it really hits you in the face. But what could it have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that's how it was written in the book. ... I would have loved to have been puking up blood."

Mostly, though, audiences will be excited to see the "Breaking Dawn" wedding scene, the moment that leads to all those others. "It was one of the coolest things that I've done," Stewart recalled. "There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming."

The magazine also features some exclusive photos from the movie. Those shots include intimate moments between Jacob and Bella, photos of the Denali clan and one of Jacob running through the rain. (With a shirt on — sorry, ladies!)

"Everybody is always complaining to me that I don't have to wear the contacts, I don't have to wear the white makeup or wear wigs and all that stuff. And I'm like, 'I'm the one in the freezing rain and cold not wearing a shirt!' " Taylor Lautner says in the issue. "I paid my dues in 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse.' "

Sure, Bella and Edward have some big moments in these flicks, but Jacob also meets the love of his life, their baby girl, Renesmee. "There were many times I walked up to Stephenie [Meyer] and asked her, 'What exactly is imprinting?' " Lautner said. "It's still a very confusing thing for me, so don't ask."

Could another Twilight spoof movie be on the way? Evidently so. Variety, when reporting on the plans for a new production company, Stonebrook International, mentioned that its “Cannes lineup turns around genre, including [a] ‘Twilight’/vampire movie spoof ‘Bite Me’ . . .”

Indeed, you’re probably already aware that the first full-length theatrical film spoofing the Twilight Saga was last year’s Vampires Suck, starring Matt Lanter, Jenn Proske, Diedrich Bader, and Ken Jeong. With a production budget estimated at $20 million, Vampires Suck brought in $80 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. So, it was certainly not a wash.

Details are slim on what Bite Me will focus on. The IMDb pTage for a 2011 film called Bite Me: The Movie offers the following description:

It’s 1988 and A.C. is one of the coolest guys of the decade. But behind his trendy looks, expensive cloths, and cool demeanor he is secretly a mega-geek who loves dungeons and dragons and video games. He works at a stereotypical 80’s office where big hair, power suits, ass grabbing and cocaine use by the boss are the norm. All is looking good until the boss forces him to bring his geekier best friend Nick to the big corporate retreat with all his coworkers. Nick agrees to be normal for the weekend but after arriving mysteriously disappears. He finally shows up before dawn but to A.C.’s dismay he’s been turned into a vampire. With his Geek-dom of knowledge A.C. knows all about vampires, comprehending exactly whats happening. With his reputation at stake he now has to cover up Nick’s vampirism while at the same time thwart the evil attacking them. But as coworkers start showing up dead and becoming vampires themselves hiding the danger they’re in becomes perilously difficult. Will A.C. save his cooler-than-cool 80’s persona? Will he even get out alive? Will he win the heart of Veronica the sexy sales rep who’s number one? Will it end with a action packed showdown at the head vampires’ secret haven?

 

If this is the same one described by Variety (which it may not be), this doesn’t sound to be as direct of a Twilight spoof as Vampires Suck was, but we’ll have to wait and see what Bite Me has in store.

Switching gears: Breaking Dawn. I know you’re on set, how does it feel winding it down?
It’s been a whirlwind. We’ve been filming for six months. You take it day by day. I feel good about what we’ve shot. Now it’s up to the editor, and I hope it all comes out well. At the end of the day, it’s hard because you don’t have control over how it’s put together. But I’ve seen some put together, and it looks pretty good. I’m excited to see the finished product.

Anything you can tease to us about it? I hear the wedding scene is grand.
The wedding scene, first of all, was really beautiful. The way the set was decorated, the way they lit it. It’s in the backyard of the Cullen house, and they utilized the space really well. For us as actors, it was hard because it was raining the whole time we shot, but you’ll never see it on film. For us, it was raining and muddy, but on film, it will look beautiful. In the baseball sequence [from the first movie], it rained the whole time, but you can’t tell.

How did you magically stay dry?
It’s very difficult. I remember the first day [on the first film], we were in the midst of shooting, and they said [to the director Catherine Hardwicke], ‘”What do you want to do Catherine?” So they started passing out baseball hats to anyone whose hair looked too wet. It was movie magic; you never see it. It has to rain really hard for it to read on film.

It looks very magical. It was a real treat to be able to watch the two of them get married. It was a longtime coming, this wedding. It didn’t disappoint me when we shot it, so I think it will be magical.

“The first time I met (Lawrence), we went to meet Tai the elephant at her house,” says Pattinson of the 42-year-old elephant who plays lumbering Rosie, the Benzini Bros. main act. Tai showed off tricks the studio originally thought could be accomplished only by a computer-generated elephant.

Charmed, Pattinson read the script on the ride back. Plus, “I always wanted to do something in the ’30s in America,” he says. “It’s kind of my idea of what America really is, that period, kind of the best time to be in America. You’re still kind of a cowboy, but there’s this huge energy. The future was being created then.”

The love triangle complete, Pattinson, Witherspoon and Waltz headed for Piru, Calif., where the desert set was bursting with circus tents, steam trains, hundreds of extras, spangled costumes, circus performers and animals. “There was something about the ruggedness of it, which I hadn’t really done,” Pattinson says.

Lawrence saw immediate chemistry between Pattinson and Witherspoon. “I think he’s never been quite as charming as he’s been in this,” he says. “I think he feels like a real leading man.”

The film put a newly clean-cut Pattinson in the center ring with two Academy Award winners (Witherspoon for 2005’s Walk the Line and Waltz for 2009’s Inglourius Basterds) and a coterie of more than 600 animals. “I’m sure Rob had some insecurities coming up into scenes against Christoph and Reese, but he never showed it,” Lawrence says. “I think he watched and learned and listened.”

And there were distractions. Witherspoon, who occasionally brought her kids to the zoolike set, laughs as she talks about Tai following Pattinson “sort of like man’s best friend — even though she’s 9,000 pounds.” Pattinson recounts “insane” days, including one when the script finds Waltz taunting Pattinson to hand-feed a hungry lion. Pattinson opens the cage, and the lion pounces.

“We did the first take, and sure enough, the lion just ripped the (prosthetic) arm in and wouldn’t give it back,” Pattinson says. “He didn’t even care about the meat. He just wanted to eat the fake arm. I was absolutely terrified.”

Regarding a few key scenes that his co-stars have mentioned — specifically the Taylor Lautner vs. Kristen Stewart fight scene — Facinelli agreed that seeing the much smaller Stewart take on Lautner was entertaining.

“Oh yes, I was there for that,” he said. “[It was] very funny. … But you have to kick his butt a little bit,” Facinelli added about the idea of Lautner’s character Jacob imprinting on Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee.

Although he couldn’t go into too much detail, we asked Facinelli to describe the heavily hyped wedding scene for us.

“Beautiful and spectacular,” he said. “It’s funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on ‘Twilight’ [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from 'Twilight'], and it was raining. But you never see it on film,” he said of the filmmaking crew’s movie magic. “With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you’ll never see it on film, they block out the rain. They put tarps up and you’ll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold.”

MTV’s Hollywood Crush is reporting that Christian Serratos has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming film Lip Service.

Christian will star alongside Ross Thomas (“Soul Surfer”) in the teen rom-com “Lip Service” from Estilo Productions. The story centers on a young singer named Roxie (Christian) who’s convinced by a brash record exec (Ross) to lend her vocals to a track purportedly sung by no-talent celebrity Sienna Monetz. (In other words, she’s totally going to help pull a Milli Vanilli.) Of course, outside the recording studio, hi-jinks (and romance!) ensue

On Monday she was expected back on set in Vancouver where she worked until yesterday and, as you can see, is heading out for a little break before my sources tell me exclusively she’ll work on reshoots in the Virgin Islands where she and Robert Pattinson are expected to polish a few honeymoon scenes before finally closing production on a franchise that has dominated their lives for 3 years.

I believe History is cyclical and time wraps around itself. A new Bohemia of the arts is just on the precipice, artists are finding their audiences directly, thanks to new media outlets and the fall of the giants. Over at 100 Monkeys, we aren’t trying to lead the charge, but we know that the coming time for music will be a New Bohemia for rock-n-roll and the people that love the music. It’s not just about a song, it’s about the public’s connection to that song.

You asked me if I watched Dylan’s performance at the Grammy’s. Yes of course! I never miss Grammy night, since I am a music lover as well part of a music biz family.

What did you love most about Dylan’s performance?

He teased us with that harmonica the entire song. When he finally played it, he was holding it upside down. Amazing. A. May. Zing.
